Ok so I thought that my Freshman year couldn't get any worse when I found out that I will be starting school the 10th of August instead on the 18th or 19th like usual and like normal schools in the northwest part of Oklahoma do. The main reason for starting earlier is so that the teachers can get paid earlier. gggrrrr!! Then the other day I was talking to one of my friends and she said that we were also going to have to start school ten minutes earlier this year. Ok, so I'm getting really mad right about now. I don't understand why my school is doing things like this. Starting ten minutes earlier, why? My school already goes 15 minutes later than we have to. Well it turns out that  the reason for starting classes 10 min. earlier is, b/c instead of having 7 classes this year we will be having 8 classes instead. So each class with be 45 minutes long instead on 55 minutes. 45 minutes is not long enough for a class. So after hearing all this I am so angry, and confused that I decided that I want to get the classes I wanted, so I went up to the school and got my classes for this year figured out. And I new most of my classes b/c they are required, but I still have 3 other classes to choose. And they are:

1st Hour: Gym

2nd Hr.: Algebra 1

3rd Hr.: Oklahoma History/Geography

4th. Hr.: Biology

5th Hr.: English 1

~~~~~LUNCH~~~~~~~~
6TH.: one semester will be World History and the other will be Drivers Ed.
7th.: FACS
8th.: Tech Ed
So that is my schedule. Oh and the state of Oklahoma also has this new thing for freshman. You either choose a College Preparatory or the regular High School plan or whatever. There isn't really much of a difference. The college one has a few more sciences , and you only have to have on credit of fine arts. There probably is more I just don't know.  My parents choose the College Preparatory one for me.
Well that is all for now.  I hope that everyone has a great, and wonderful day and week!!!!!!!         lots--Naomi
You know you're from OKlahoma if .....
1. You can properly pronounce Eufaula, Gotebo, Okemah, Tahlequah, Chickasha, and Macomb.
2. You think that people who complain about the wind in their states are sissies.
3. A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel.
4. Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway.
5. You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day!
6. You know that the true value of a parking space is not determined
by the distance to the door, but by the availability of shade.
7. Stores don't have bags, they have sacks.
8. You see people wear bib overalls at funerals.
9. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.
10. You measure distance in minutes.
11. You refer to the capital of Oklahoma as "The City."
12. It doesn't bother you to use an airport named for a man who died in an airplane crash!
13. Little smokies are something you serve only for special occasions.
14. You go to the lake because you think it is like going to the ocean.
15. You listen to the weather forecast before picking out an outfit.
16. You know cowpies are not made of beef.
17. Someone you know has used a football schedule to plan their wedding date.
18. You have known someone who has had one belt buckle bigger than your fist.
19. A bad traffic jam involves two cars staring each other down at a four-way stop, each determined to be the most polite and let the other go first.
20. You know in which state My-am-uh is and in which state Mi-am-ee is.
21. You aren't surprised to find movie rentals, ammunition, beer and bait all in the same store.
22. Your "place at the lake" has wheels under it.
23. A Mercedes Benz is not a status symbol. A Ford/chevy 4x4 is.
24. You know everything goes better with Ranch sauce.
25. You learned how to shoot a gun before you learned how to multiply.
26. Everyone wears cap anytime.
27. Somebody who you know farts all the time.
28. You actually get these jokes and are "fixin" to send them to your friends.
Finally, you are 100% Oklahoman if you have ever heard this conversation:
"Wanna coke?"
"Yeah."
"What kind?"
"Dr. Pepper
I miss camp Lu-Jo sosososososososososososososo much, and I can't wait to go back.
So life back to its regular, normal, semi-boring self. In 2wks I go to Colorado for a vbs that my church does in Pagosa Springs. I am excited about that, but I don't know what to do in the meantime. I hope that the rest of everyone's summer is wonderful, great, and fantastic. Talk To Ya'll Later!!!!!!!!
